I would like some more info on using Flexbackup manually.
For example - how to do a custom flexbackup.conf and a discussion on the various paramters etc.

For SME6 at least, a manual backup will run from this command:
/sbin/e-smith/do_backup

Well, what if the disk drive is bigger than the tape?
What if each i-bay is bigger than the tape?
Upgrade flexbackup to the new version and re-write the .conf file by hand. You can just put in a new tape each night, this makes it possible to spread the backup across six tapes, still leaving one night free per week for maintenance.
